Mission
Several group homes across the USA have not only employed and housed their residents, but they have gone beyond self sufficiency to become profitable.

FAST is developing a pilot project that will be a model for group homes to become profitable by improving the health and wellness of their own communities.

By placing a group home on the floor above a unique and specialized fitness & health facility, FAST will enable its residents to live, work, receive therapy and recreation while improving the health and wellness of the community. This is our strategic link to the Community.

FAST will utilize the ability of a nonprofit to create alliances with health care providers, sports organizations, academic institutions, local volunteer organizations and other nonprofits. These alliances will be used to ensure that FAST will have state-of-the-art exercise physiology, sports medicine, sports, coaching and therapy programs that will be used to produce top competitive athletes and a healthy community.

The key to making FAST facilities competitive with retail fitness facilities is to attract top competitive athletes for training and guest appearances and to produce record holders for local, regional, state and national events. Our pilot program will focus on producing finely tuned competitive swimmers. A secondary focus will be to operate an exciting health and fitness facility that also offers recreational programs such sports nutrition, scuba and sailing. Every FAST facility will offer sports, recreation and therapy programs to special populations and the community as a whole.

FAST has completed a considerable amount of construction and the pool is now operational on a limited seasonal basis. The Humana Grant would complete the intermediate phase of construction. This phase would allow us to start a year round aquatics and recreation program. During this next level of operation, we would be able to develop strategic alliances and revenue that would lead to the completion of our operating protocols and the finished facility.

The intermediate phase of construction cleverly uses an inexpensive greenhouse design to cover the pool and at the same time, be used as a greenhouse. Plants will hang from an interior frame that allows swimmers to use the pool below it. Revenue would be generated by aquatics, floriculture, olericulture and pomology.

“We pledge to provide a facility where FAST athletes can live and work at the same place where they receive therapy, sports and recreation. We pledge to improve the existing function, design and perception of group homes so that they are self sufficient, exciting facilities that support the community.”
